The Challenge
As the UK's number one property website, Rightmove wanted to be the ?rst to provide aninnovative, functional and engaging mobile application that would offer millions of iPhoneusers access to extensive property search functionality while on the move.
Capitalizing on the evolution of pervasive mobile Internet use, Rightmove saw the applicationas a way to extend the exposure of its agents while changing the face of house hunting witha more convenient and dynamic approach.
The iPhone app needed to incorporate the website's functionality while taking advantage of cutting edge location-based technology to allow house hunters to search for properties in their immediate vicinities, in addition to the traditional area-speci?c search tool.
The Solution
Building on its extensive global brand and smartphone app development expertise, 2ergoprovided a solution that offers sophisticated functionality for access to a wide array of information while on the move. The app allows mobile users to search for properties bykeying in their zip code or by using the real-time GPS technology embedded in the iPhoneto search their current locations.
Photos and maps for over 950,000 UK sales or rental properties can also be accessed withbuilt-in sharing capabilities, allowing users to send prospective properties to friends via emailand call agents directly from the application. Users can also access address, agent details, prices and images as well as save search ?lters.
The Result
The iPhone application empowered Rightmove to make house hunting even easier for its millions of users and revolutionized the process for customers that use its property search. On average, over 57,000 searches are performedper day.
As the ?rst application of its kind, it arms customers with a practical property searchtool and provides Rightmove's agents with extensive exposure.
From project inception to completion, launchingthe Rightmove app took only six weeks, ensuringRightmove maintained its market lead and ?rstmover advantage.
The app reached number one in the iTunes AppStore in its ?rst week and has had over 400,000downloads to date. It now receives over 57,000searches per day and has delivered 75,000agent email leads.*
